When you buy one of these lamps, you are acquiring a totally individual piece that is both functional and beautiful.

They come in a variety of shapes and sizes, in white, black and natural, satin or gloss finish with or without coloured beading.

These extraordinarily beautiful Gourd Lamps were discovered on my travels around Turkey. Each lamp is a unique, natural work of art, patiently handcrafted by a highly talented, technical craft teacher, following traditional Turkish methods.

The lamps are carefully handcrafted to such a high standard that the love and energy is almost tangible. No compromises are made in the designs, so near perfectly shaped gourds must be found, sometimes 1 in 200. 

A gourd is eaten, its husk is cleaned and left to dry in the sun for up to 3 years, before being hand-drilled and decorated. It is a painstakingly lengthy process but the end result is spectacular and magical!
